Help put our San Diego children on a path to success!
August 23, 2018
As the new school year gets underway, we are proud to join Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer, San Diego Unified School District Superintendent (SDUSD) Cindy Marten and One San Diego, for this year’s We Have Your Back program. This month we will provide more than 3,000 K-12 students with school supplies and safety information in five underserved schools.
Just last week, the program kicked off at Sherman Elementary School. This week we will continue the program at Porters Elementary School near Valencia Park, Kimbrough Elementary School in Grant Hill, Logan Elementary School in Logan Heights and Perkins Elementary School in Barrio Logan. During events held at each of the participating schools, students and families will select backpacks, fill them with grade-level appropriate school supplies and home safety information.
In addition to sponsoring many of the backpacks, our a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, The Ambassadors Foundation, provided participating children and families with bilingual (English and Spanish) guides loaded with home safety tips and instructions approved by the City of San Diego Police and Fire-Rescue Departments. Our safety guide is now available electronically online.
So far, our events are a complete success. We acknowledge and thank our REALTORS® who provided donations for backpacks and volunteered at the events around the city. Thank you for helping us to provide more children with the opportunity to live, play and study in a safe home. You can still support the cost of a brand-new backpack, school supplies and safety guide for children in underserved areas around city.
Our work in the community isn’t done yet! Join us and support more schoolchildren this year!
